Season 2015 - New and Different

As promised in the Season 2015 - Starts Now post, I will highlight a few changes to the 2015 FMITL competition verses previous editions.

First and most obviously is that we now have 3 divisions and a grand total of 32 teams.
Your 2015 roster is as here,

*Note above numbers next to each player indicate nothing of any consequence, and are just index numbers for the spreadsheet.

All our Div 3 players are new to the League format, though some were playing last years 'Lightning Premiership' so have a handle on how it all works.

From the 2014 Div 2 twelve players, we have promoted SgtButane and MattSlutzkin as respective winners of the 2014 promotion spots.

In Div 1, we lost a player in the early phases of of 2014, meaning the automatic relegation spot was then 'vacated'. Div 1 also lost A_OKeefe down to Div 2 via the relegation playoff.
But in the off season, we also lost D1 player Col, who blocked the FMITipsters account. We tried via a few avenues to encourage him back, but without luck. So we reverted A_OKeefe back to D1 to take the place vacated by Col.

Worth noting too, that with two equal 6-player divisions forming last seasons D2 structure, no other candidate from D2 could have been chosen by fair means to leap into D1. This is why there has been 2 promotions into D1 and no relegations.

Finally, In Div 1 we have BarassiLine as the new twitter account under which DavPope will play, and AFLTheory is the re-branded Lightning Premiership player LunchBunchAFL

Running a 32 team competition means Div3 will play an unbalanced schedule (as mentioned before) but it also allows for a perfect bracket for the FMITL Knockout Cup. Simplifying to a 32 team competition means we start with 32 and eliminate don evenly to 16, then 8, four and then into a final 2.
Last year we ran a fixed schedule where you could see possible match-ups in the next round, but this year we will play a more FA Cup style schedule. Winners will move to the next round of the Cup and then be drawn opponents at random.

The 'RULES' page will be updated to reflect the new Cup (and League) structure.

Also of  note is the new formatting of the blog page and player detail. Gone are the MS Paint player logo masterpieces.
Instead you are now represented by two colour text blocks (let me know if you want a change to said blocks).

Also, there are generic colour codings for the table and divisions, with Yellow, Green and Purple as above for Divs 1 to 3. Non-divisional headers etc will be in dark red (or pink as needed). The Cup competition will be coded in the burnt-orange to light-orange spectra.

We will also look to bring back the FMITL Lightning Premiership starting in Round 19. This is for all non-finalists to keep going into the last weeks of the season and also a testing ground for new entrants for 2016 (if we absorb more followers).
